This afternoon top prospect Matt Harvey made his second start of the year for Triple-A Buffalo. Harvey, who struggled in his first start pitched better today, allowing 2 ER, on 7 hits and 1 BB, across 5 innings pitched while picking up a no decision. He also struck out 4 Rochester hitters. Thus far on the young season, Harvey is 0-1, with a 5.79 ERA. Coming into Spring Training it was assumed that Harvey would begin the year at Triple-A to get some more seasoning before being called up later in the summer. However, if the Mets' can hold off from promoting Harvey to the big league club in 2012, it may suit him best to pitch the entire year atTriple-A and have him ready to complete for a rotation spot at the start of the 2013 season.
