Pre-Game : Game 18 - Miami Marlins @ New York Mets

The Mets and Marlins will play Game 2 of 3 tonight at Citi Field beginning at 7:10PM.  Jose Reyes made his return to New York last night and went 0-4 in a 2-1 Mets win.  Reyes was not the only Marlin who struggled at the plate last night as Mets starter Johan Santana was brilliant allowing only a 1 ER while striking out 11 Marlins hitters over 6.2 IP.  The struggling Ike Davis has been moved down to the 7th spot in the lineup tonight.

On the mound for the Marlins tonight will be left-hander Mark Buehrle (1-2, 2.66).  Buehrle signed a 4 year contract with the Marlins this past off-season after spending his first 12 seasons in the American League with the Chicago White Sox.  Buehrle who is a very quick worker is also a workhorse as he has pitched over 200 innings each year for the last 11 seasons.  Buehrle has never faced the Mets in his career.

The Mets will send R.A. Dickey (2-1, 5.71) to the mound tonight.  Dickey had a rough outing his last time out against the Braves as he lasted only 4.1 innings and allowed 8 ER.  The good news for Dickey is that he has had great success against the Marlins in his career (5-2, 3.91) and won all three of his starts against Miami in 2011.
