Mets Awarded Compensation Picks For Loss Of Reyes

Yesterday MLB announced the draft order for the upcoming amateur draft, which is set to take place June 4th through 6th.  The Mets, who will pick 12th overall based upon their 2011 finish, will have a total of four picks within the first 100 selections. 

In addition to their first pick, the Mets were awarded the 35th and 71st overall picks due to the loss of Jose Reyes.  The Mets will then select 75th overall, which will be the normal 2nd round pick.

With the Mets selecting 12 overall, here is a list of ESPN Keith Law's top 15 prospects:

1) Byron Buxton, CF, High School
2) Mike Zunino, C, University of Florida
3) Mark Appel, RHP, Stanford University
4) Kyle Zimmer, RHP, University of South Florida
5) Carlos Correa, SS, High School
6) Kevin Gausman, RHP, Louisiana State University
7) Deven Marrero, SS, Arizona State University
8) Alvert Almora, OF, High School
9) Max Fried, LHP, High School
10) Matt Smoral, LHP, High School
11) Lucas Giolito, RHP, High School
12) Richie Shaffer, 3B, Clemson University
13) Stephen Piscotty, 3B, Stanford University
14) Gavin Cecchini, SS, High School
15) Zach Eflin, RHP, High School
