Mets @ Phillies Pitching Preview

Game 1 - Friday 7:05 PM
RA Dickey (1-0, 3.00 ERA): Dickey opened his season with a win despite a shaky six innings against the Atlanta Braves that saw him allow five hits while striking out three and walking four.  Against the Phillies, Dickey has a 2-3 career record, pitching to a 2.61 ERA over 38.0 innings pitched across six starts.

Cliff Lee (0-0, 1.50 ERA):  Lee's season began with a no decision although he pitched well against the Pirates, going six innings and allowing only one run in the processed of giving up on two hits, striking out four and walking two.  Lee has been impressive against the Mets.  In three career starts, he has a 2-0 record while pitching to a 0.43 ERA over 21 innings pitched.

Game 2 - Saturday 4:05 PM
Jon Niese (1-0, 4.50 ERA): Niese's Easter Sunday start saw him carry a no-hitter into the seventh inning before giving up three runs, but ultimately getting the win in the finale against the Braves.  He has a 3-4 record over eight career starts against the Phillies, during which he has pitched to a 4.13 ERA through 48 innings pitched.

Vance Worley (0-0, 1.50 ERA):  Worley's first start of the year included five strike outs and only one walk in the process of giving up only one run to the Pirates.  He has appeared in six games (four starts) against the Mets and pitched to a 3-1 record and a 3.00 ERA over 24 innings pitched.

Game 3 - Sunday 1:35 PM
Mike Pelfrey (0-0, 4.76 ERA):  Mike's first start of year was a rocky one which saw him struggle despite striking out a career high eight batters, but one that still put the Mets in a position to get the win against the Nationals.  In 19 career starts against the Phillies, Pelfrey is 7-7 with a 5.40 ERA over 105 innings pitched.

Cole Hamels (0-1, 5.06 ERA): Hamels mustered only 5.1 innings pitched in his first start of the year in a loss to the Marlins.  Despite striking out nine in that time, he allowed three earned runs and eight hits.  He has horrible numbers against the Mets with a 3-10 record over 17 starts with a 4.46 ERA in 101 innings pitched.
