Mets Still Have Plenty To Be Positive About

Despite two bad losses to close out their series in Atlanta, the Mets return to Citi Field today with plenty to be positive about.

A full two weeks into the season now, we find the Mets sitting two games above .500.  The teams 7-5 record may have them towards the middle of the pack in the NL East, however remember that while you can't win the division in April, you can certainly go a long way towards losing it.  Thus far the team is no where near that point.

More important than their record the team returns from their first road trip healthy.  Early season injury scares to David Wright and Jason Bay appear to be afterthoughts moving forward.  Also, despite his poor start on Tuesday Johan Santana has now put together three starts without injury concern.

Yes, in spite of the teams recent play, they are still in the thick of things and still have all their primary players to keep it that way.  Now they must turn their sights to the Giants. A series win against San Francisco will afford the Mets some momentum when Jose Reyes and the Miami Marlins visit for the first time next week.

The season is still very young. We are not even 10% through just yet, but the Mets return to Citi Field today in position to continue their improbable start.  Two weeks ago this is all we would've asked for, so enjoy it Mets fans because you have plenty to be positive about!
