Pre-Game: Game 11 - New York Mets @ Atlanta Braves

The Mets and Braves will lock up in game 2 of their 3 game series tonight at Turner Field in Atlanta, GA. The Mets have now beaten the Braves 4 straight times in 2012 and are off to the 4th best start in franchise history at 7-3. Ike Davis and Jason Bay provided the big blows in last night's win. Davis connected for a tie-breaking 3-run HR in the 6th, while Jason Bay added a solo shot in the 9th to pad the lead. Bay also made a spectacular defensive play to rob Jack Wilson of what would have been a go ahead HR.

On the mound for the Braves this evening will be RHP Randall Delgado (1-0, 3.60). In his first start of the year the rookie right-hander gave up two runs in five innings and struck out a career-high six during Wednesday's 6-3 road win over Houston. The highly touted Delgado has a career record of 1-1, with a 2.83 ERA over 7 GS. He has never made an appearance against New York.

On the mound for the Mets this evening will be left-hander Johan Santana (0-1, 0.90). Santana has been great in his two starts this year, giving up only 1 ER in 10 innings of work. Expect his pitch count to be a little higher tonight than in his first two starts as he is starting to build more and more arm strength. On opening day he held ATL scoreless through 5 innings of work and has pitched well against the Braves in his career despite a record of only 3-6 (2.14 ERA).
