Should the Mets consider Cabrera..

An internal option that hasn't been discussed much is Fernando Cabrera, the 30y/o side-arming right hander has produced 17 saves in 34 game finishes with an ERA of 3.22 in a total of 44 innings for Buffalo.

The hard throwing reliever with a funky delivery has been closing on the minor league level for three different organizations ( Cleveland, Boston, NYM) in which he's compiled 84 minor league saves including two seasons with Boston (2009-2010) of 22 save per season.

That hasn't equated into major league success as he owns a 5.24 lifetime ERA in parts of seven major league seasons.  His longest stint in the majors was in 2006 with the Indians where he posted a 5.19 ERA in 51 games.

He has had short stints of success and maybe he gets us a few games while we wait for the price to come down as the deadline nears, at least it's not doing the same thing expecting different results and he's pitching well right now for the Bisons.

Roster space is easy, put Baxter who isn't close on the 60day he hasn't played since June 1st and more then likely wont be ready before August 1st.  The 60 day DL allows you to use Baxter's roster spot for someone else....
