Mets talking to agent for Pavano & Liriano

Sandy Alderson said after the R.A. Dickey trade that who would be in the market for a starting pitcher now that he could offer one a spot in the rotation.  I was a bit surprised thinking they would go with Santana, Harvey, Niese, Gee and a competition of Hefner, McHugh, Mejia.  It's been said they look for someone like Capuano was when they signed him, inexpensive and on the comeback trail with upside.

According to Ken Davidoff of the NY Post the Mets have made contact with the agents of Carl Pavano and Francisco Liriano.  Maybe reuniting with Santana would help Liriano, if you believe in the concept that some can't handle large markets then you shoulr be scared to have Pavano here...

In their search to fill out the back-end of their rotation, the Mets reached out to the representatives of Carl Pavano and Francisco Liriano, among many others. source NY Post
