I thought it was a forgone conclusion that Scott Hairston would find a new home this off-season.
The 32 y/o right handed outfielder hit 20 HRs, 25 doubles and 57 RBIs while batting .263 in 398 PA.
Hairston is a 4th outfielder, over use will result in diminished returns but can fill-in at all three positions.
Despite being a role player his production will earn him at the least a two year deal which is why I thought he was a goner.
However, both sides earlier today indicated that they were optimistic about him returning this year...
Free agent Scott Hairston told ESPNNewYork.com on Monday he believed a reunion with the Mets was "probable."
Mets insiders actually feel similarly optimistic, although there are no assurances. Source ESPN NY
