Created in Dec. of 2006, the writing team at Mets Fever offers opinions and editorials on the Mets from a die hard fan's point of view. When you visit our site, you'll find us passing along our thoughts and debating about breaking news, player movements, trades, rumors, signings and anything else that involves our beloved team. We also scour the net to pass along even the most abstract items we think may be of interest to our community.
I'm in my early forties with a lovely wife, two great kids and a very stressful job. To balance out the stress of my job, I needed to find a healthy hobby and writing about the Mets seemed to make the most sense. On Sept. 23,1979 I attended a Mets day game against the Cardinals. The game resulted as a loss in extra innings but that didn't matter to a 10 y/o attending his first game, I was more intrigued by what happened during the game. The team was in last place, 37 1/2 games out of first place, working on their ninth straight loss. The ushers were instructed to bring all people with kids down to field level. As 1B Lee Mazzilli came off the field, he tossed me the ball from the last out of the inning. That was it, I was hooked. The Mets have been a part of my life ever since. As long as I can remember, I've debated issues involving my favorite team; back in study hall, later on a bar stool and now on Mets Fever.
When I started this blog, the idea was to build a writing team of die hard fans so the discussions we used to have at our favorite pub could now be brought home to our Internet community. Below are the great writers who contribute to Mets Fever as well as reinforce my wish for a laid back, fan friendly site.
